Maksym Grekov Private Clients Asset Structuring

About

I advise individuals, families, and business owners whose ambitions extend beyond preserving wealth. They seek to preserve continuity – not only of capital, but also of ownership, governance, values, responsibility, and long-term purpose across generations and jurisdictions.
As wealth and complexity grow, the greatest challenge is not a lack of expertise. It is maintaining coherence: ensuring that legal, tax, investment, governance, and strategic decisions remain aligned with a common long-term direction.
My role is not to advise on isolated legal or tax questions. It is to preserve the coherence of the client's long-term architecture of ownership, governance, and capital.
I serve as an independent strategic advisor, helping clients navigate complex decisions, align stakeholders, and integrate expert advice into a coherent framework. I work alongside the client’s trusted advisers and institutions to ensure that individual decisions support broader long-term objectives.
Structures, trusts, foundations, and other ownership and governance arrangements are instruments–not objectives in themselves. Their value lies in supporting sound governance, preserving flexibility, managing risk, and strengthening resilience over time.
With more than twenty years of experience across legal, tax, executive, and board-level roles, I combine technical expertise with practical judgment in complex cross-border situations. My litigation background has shaped my understanding of how decisions and structures perform not only in design, but also under scrutiny, conflict, and changing circumstances.
I hold a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Tax Law from the Vienna University of Economics and Business, am a licensed attorney, and hold a management consulting license focused on strategic advisory.

Where Coherence Matters MostI typically engage in situations where ownership, governance, capital, and long-term objectives must remain aligned through complexity, growth, transition, or changing circumstances.

Maintaining coherence across jurisdictions

Keeping ownership, governance, and decision-making aligned as assets, businesses, and families expand across borders.

Aligning governance and decision-making

Ensuring that ownership structures, governance frameworks, and strategic decisions reinforce one another over time.

Designing resilient ownership architectures

Creating ownership and governance frameworks that remain effective through growth, transition, and changing circumstances.

Managing succession without losing continuity

Supporting intergenerational transitions while preserving clarity of ownership, governance, and long-term purpose.

Building effective family office governance

Designing governance models and advisory ecosystems that support informed and coordinated decision-making.

Providing independent strategic judgment

Offering an independent perspective that helps integrate expert advice, align stakeholders, and navigate complex decisions with confidence.

Why Clients Work With Me

Independent judgment

I provide an independent perspective focused solely on the client's long-term interests, helping ensure that decisions remain aligned across advisers, institutions, and generations.

Control across a fragmented landscape

As specialist advice becomes increasingly fragmented, I help clients maintain coherence across ownership, governance, investment, and legal decisions.

Strategy before structures

Strategy defines structure – not the other way around. Technical solutions create value only when they support long-term purpose, governance, and coherent decision-making.

Cross-border judgment

Cross-border complexity demands more than technical expertise. It requires judgment that reconciles legal, tax, governance, and commercial considerations into coherent long-term decisions.

Continuity and long-term perspective

I work with clients over the long term, helping ensure continuity of ownership, governance, and strategic direction as circumstances evolve.

Selective engagement

I work with a limited number of clients where independent judgment, active involvement, and long-term stewardship are essential.

The approach is consistent; the context differs
For founders, the challenge is maintaining alignment between ownership, capital, governance, and strategic ambition as the business evolves.
For families, the challenge is maintaining alignment between wealth, governance, values, and continuity across generations.
